DavKat — artist

DavKat, also known as Katy Davison, is a visual artist creating original watercolor and gouache paintings on paper.

DavKat holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Monmouth College in New Jersey, where she studied under the mentorship of Professor Vincent DiMattio .Her artistic journey has taken her through Nassau, Bahamas; New Orleans, Louisiana; Key West, Florida; and Sarasota, Florida. Throughout the years in these locations, she continued creating and developing her distinctive style.

Her work centers on the human face — not as a likeness, but as a landscape. Each painting in the Faces collection is built from imagination: unusual eyes that hold their own logic, intricate marks that accumulate into something alive, and color that moves with the energy of the subject rather than describing it.

Working across a variety of mediums, including watercolor, gouache, oils, acrylics, charcoal, pastels and pen and ink, DavKat explores the expressive possibilities of color, line, texture, and form. Her Faces collection focuses primarily on watercolor and gouache, combining the transparency of watercolor with the richness and opacity of gouache to create distinctive, imaginative compositions.
